CPS On-Going Projects
Stay tuned as the Centre for Polymer Sustainability (CPS) delves into cutting-edge research initiatives, fast-tracking innovative solutions for polymer circularity and sustainable living.
-
PLAST4H2
PLAST4H2 focuses on establishing an excellent transnational network to foster the fight against pollution caused by the indiscriminate littering of plastics in the Atlantic area, followed by the valorization of these into high-value-added products. Thus, circularity and sustainability principles are the core of the proposal.
-
Twinn4MicroUp
TwInn4MicroUp is set to redefine the approach to plastic waste management by harnessing the power of Synthetic Microbial Biotechnology, turning plastic waste into valuable resources, aligning with the principles of a circular and sustainable economy. The innovative solutions within this project hold the potential to mitigate the environmental impact of plastic waste while creating economic value and fostering new avenues of research and development.
-
SUSHI-PACK
SUSHI-PACK aims to develop sustainable, biodegradable packaging materials by combining seaweed-derived polysaccharides with regenerated used cooking oils. Through advanced biocatalysis, it converts waste into high-performance, circular packaging solutions that reduce reliance on fossil-based plastics.
-
SkillCirc
SkillCirc is a doctoral training network that equips early-stage researchers to drive the transition from a linear to a circular plastic economy. Through cutting-edge research and industry collaboration, it develops solutions ranging from bio-based and endlessly recyclable polymers to AI-driven, more efficient recycling processes, while integrating social, economic, and policy perspectives to ensure real-world impact and adoption.
