Circularity for PET & Polyester Plastics
Our team has developed a proprietary technology for the permanent recycling for the everyday polymer, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), used in beverage bottles, food packaging, and textiles. This new exciting technology enables continuous recycling for all grades of PET, spanning pristine bottle grades to low-grade PET based pots, tubs, and trays. Indefinite monomer generation and repolymerisation as ‘new’ virgin PET, equivalent to fossil fuel extracted material, is delivered in this new industrially scalable process. Expansion to other polyester polymers such as PBT and PTT has also been demonstrated.

CPS’s biotechnology platforms harness microbial and bio-based processing to transform renewable feedstocks and biopolymer streams into high-value sustainable materials. Microbial proteins and advanced biopolymers enable regeneratable EcoProducts within a future-focused circular systems designed for continuous renewal and resource efficiency.

Circularity for Petro-Bioplastic Waste Stream
Existing end-of-life management of mixed plastic waste is mainly limited to landfilling and incineration. Our team at TUS is piloting new chemo-enzymatic catalytic routes to sustainably convert mixed (petro-bio)plastic waste into high added-value eco-polymers.

Plastic-Free Adhesives
CicloSeal is a bio-based adhesive and heat-seal coating technology platform developed to support next-generation circular packaging systems. Derived from microbial protein fermentation, the technology enables strong bonding and sealing performance without relying on conventional petrochemical or synthetic polymer adhesives. The platform is designed for fibre-based and compostable packaging applications, including paper cups, fruit labels, fibre trays, and flexible packaging. By replacing hidden plastic adhesive layers with renewable bio-based materials, CicloSeal provides a scalable pathway towards fully circular and plastic-free packaging solutions.
