Right now, contact lens manufacturing relies on single-use polypropylene (PP) molds that generate significant plastic waste and depend on fossil-based materials. Our solution replaces PP with PBT polyester—a high-performance material that not only matches the precision and reliability required for lens production but is also depolymerizable using our PerPETual technology. This means the molds can be broken back down into their original monomer building blocks and remade, enabling a true closed-loop recycling system.
